Wreckage within

There I am, gripping the edges of the cold, white sink Bent down into it staring at the drain Hot water running - translucent steam rolling Vision impared - looking up at my reflection The mirror shakes violently - constantly Black to light over and over - static overpowers My knees become weak - I need to scream Glass is breaking and I want to bleed Pull the shards from my fists and I watch As my shattered image crashes to the ground Silence awakens - emotions flicker My fuse gets shorter - enflamed by depression Powered by fear - casting impressions of angry faces Searching for freedom from this wreckage within Begging myself - not to give in.
